“Yes, We ARE Nature!” is our proclamation to the Conservation Work in Melanesia
Three Deadly Sins in World Conservation Work.
- Disregarding and excluding the spirit aspect in conservation; The spirits are parts of Nature have not been included and appreciated in conservation work.
- Too much emphasis on how many plants and animals. By emphasizing bio-diversity: flora and fauna, conservation work has so far neglected and undermined the peoples with custom and cultures that encompass the ecology and ecosystem of life and living as communities of beings.
- Thinking and treating that we humans are doing something good for the nature.
The conservation work we advocate primarily emphasizes the spiritual aspect of life and living, by identifying and mapping the spirit hotspots. We believe that spirit hotspots are the sites that accommodate and nurture.
We combine conventional anthropocentric paradigm and framework with Melanesian spirit-led conservation practices that are based upon storylines, spirit-hotspots and traditional way of life.
